The hockey community has lost a truly special person with the passing of Francis Bierman.

Francis was the kind of person who made everyone around him feel welcome. He was always quick with a smile, a joke, or a friendly conversation, and he carried with him a genuine positivity that was felt by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

For those of us in the HAHL, Francis was more than just a player and teammate. He was someone you looked forward to seeing at the rink—whether you were lining up across from him on the ice, sitting beside him in the locker room, or simply catching up before or after a game.

He represented so much of what we love about hockey: camaraderie, friendship, sportsmanship, and the connections that extend far beyond the rink.

The hockey gods are getting a great one in Francis. While we will miss his presence, his smile, his sense of humor, and the positivity he brought to our league, the memories he created with all of us will remain.

From everyone in the Hills Adult Hockey League, our deepest condolences go out to Francis’ family, friends, teammates, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Rest in peace, Francis. You will be missed, and you will not be forgotten. 🏒❤️
