Dear VCCT friends and supporters:
VCCT is coming to an end. The curtain is coming down for the last time.
After 20 years of productions, large and small, including actors young and young at heart, numerous dedicated crew members, and a loyal audience, the Session of the Village Church has decided to disband the Drama Ministry in its entirety, which includes VCCT.
This is among other changes being made by the Session of the church, in part due to the effects of COVID on our worship and program structure and subsequent strain on resources.
This means we will not have any more productions by the Community Theater. While it is possible that God has a plan that will one day return a theater program to the church, there is no expectation of that at this time. Any news on this will certainly be announced in all possible places, including here, as well as the church website (villagechurch.org).
Thank you to all who have been a part of the life of VCCT– production cast and crew members, supportive audiences, Summer Theater Camp families, staff and volunteers, and all who have become part of the family created by a shared love of theater. So many relationships have started and grown deeper because of this special theater – my heart is filled with joy because of that!
This message comes from me directly so that you would know how much I appreciate having served you, the church, and community through my various roles in the life of this theater (a total of 17 years in various positions.) The privilege of sharing my love and faith with you through theater, praying for and with you along the way, has been an indescribable gift. Please feel free to post memories or thoughts of your experience with the theater here, or email to [email protected]. It is a part of the Village Church history that I would like to compile and share.
Peace be with you (and break a leg!)
