California Fife Music | “Military Sound From The Age of Reason”

Flautist Christopher Nawoichik is on a campaign to disseminate quality woodwind music from the European military and Classical traditions of the Enlightenment Era. Originally from Boston, Massachusetts, Christopher honors the Founders of the United States and the ancient ideologies that birthed American freedom. His musical ability is of exceptional fine quality, characterized by a divine gift to play in a way that seems fueled by spiritual energy.

Christopher learned to read music and play the recorder in the Fourth Grade at age eleven. As a result of personal interest in the American Revolution, he began playing the fife in the Sudbury Ancient Fyfe and Drum Companie and reenacting the battles of Lexington and Concord. Not long after, he found a natural skill with traditional Celtic music upon picking up an Irish flute.

He currently plays a Scottish flute in addition to the English-style military fife. The tunes that he plays in public or at private events are ancient and even historic. His repertoire of hundreds of arrangements are mostly military marches and Classical pieces from the 18th Century.

Christopher is an entrepreneur, web developer, athlete, and incoming lawyer in addition to his musical venture. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 2006 to 2012 and was honorably discharged as a commissioned officer.
