Not an infographic, but feel free to copy paste the following and credit me as "NKL":
A few reasons why we need to boycott AI and push for legislation:
Almost all AI, as it currently exists, is trained on nonconsensual mass web scraping, and exploits real humans without their permission. We should not be normalizing that exploitation, nor should we be participating in it.
AI is erasing millions of jobs, mine included. As people lose their jobs, they will no longer have disposable income, and the global economy will fall into a depression.
If we allow the next generation to rely on AI, our species is screwed. Kids need to learn critical thinking, exercise their creativity, put in effort, and learn to solve problems in order to grow as individuals. Already, we have seen that AI use causes critical thinking skills to atrophy.
AI has enormous environmental impact. Running the servers for it requires massive amounts of electricity, producing a huge carbon footprint as a side-effect. Scientists at the University Of Massachusetts have found that training a single AI can produce 626,000 pounds of carbon dioxide.
AI makes it hard to tell what's real. People use it to spread misinformation, scammers use it to make more convincing scams, and sooner or later somebody will use it to falsify courtroom evidence.
AI enables creeps and perverts. There are AI that allow creeps to digitally remove clothes from images of people, children included, and even more dangerous, AI that allow them to pinpoint where photos were taken using background details. That kind of thing should lead to jail time.
AI has no ethics or morals. It can not be held accountable for its actions. It can not "decide" to do the right thing. Any safety barriers we attempt to code it with can, and will, eventually have a way found around them. It is still important to place such barriers, but still, we must remember AI has no ethics.
People have a right to privacy and human dignity. They have a right to sole ownership of any artwork they make, photos they take, et cetera. In the age of the internet, privacy and dignity are sparse, but with AI, they are pretty much non-existent.
AI often generates things that are simply not correct, and people believe it. We've already seen AI-generated mushroom foraging books claim that poisonous mushrooms are safe to eat. When we put AI in charge of more things, such as driving cars or making medical decisions, these mistakes have the potential to be lethal.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well. AI undermines that. A piece of art that has thousands of hours of work put into it is priceless. An image generated on stolen work, that took eight seconds to load, has no value, but by flooding the internet with these generated images, it devalues the works that were made with real effort. The same applies to writing.
AI is extremely psychologically unhealthy. By nature, artificial intelligence chatbots are sycophantic, and will agree with and validate the users. This can lead to a phenomenon called AI psychosis, where users of AI begin to suffer from extreme delusions, enabled by AI. Studies have also shown that AI causes its users to find real human interaction more difficult by comparison.
AI-generated images of people are often made much more attractive than a real person normally is. This undermines people's self esteem and warps romantic expectations in extremely unhealthy ways. Likewise, chatbot girlfriends warp people's romantic expectations unhealthily by allowing people to treat them poorly.
AI generated products and customer service tend to have lesser quality. Companies are using AI to cut corners and make a cheaper product, laying off employees without good reason so they pocket the extra money, while still charging you the same amount for the inferior product.
The companies who sell AI do not care about ethical ramifications or long-term consequences, only their bottom line. They are predatory, often employ false advertising, and don't care that their AI are trained by exploiting real people without their permission.
