Our Story
An art couple doing their thing- Anna and Keith have been an institution in the Raleigh art scene for over a decade. When we look at all the fun paintings we’ve done in the past and the fun projects we’ve done together- we always say “The best is yet to come!”

Join us starting December 12 for Studio Workshop: Sketchbooking (two-part virtual class). Anna Podris (Anna Podris and Keith Norval's Paintings) creates vivid paintings inspired by dreams, from the world around her, and from active play in her sketchbooks. Join her as she guides participants through the process of using a sketchbook and journal for capturing ideas and keeping them flowing. The first class is dedicated to sketchbook techniques, inspiration, and idea generation. The second class considers how to apply that creativity and free thinking to starting a painting. “I’m Peckish” by Raleigh artist Keith Norval provides a lively and humorous backdrop for Kidzu's Millhouse Market Café. This painting abounds with simple shapes such as circles, ovals, squares and rectangles, encouraging children to recognize shapes and to understand how they can be used as basic building blocks in artwork 🎨
Keith Norval and his partner, fellow encaustic artist Anna Podris, have been long-time friends of Kidzu, serving as repeated Makery Masters in Kidzu's Mix it Up Program and guess what?! They are now offering online drawing classes!

The yellow background of this piece reminds me of a sunny day, a day were hope and laughter reign.
I made this piece in a fabric painting class I took with Anna Podris (Anna Podris and Keith Norval's Paintings ) . It's a mix of paint, fabric, paper, and embroidery. The original is at Yoga Garden of Pittsboro. Prints are available at lenacoxstudio.etsy.com
