Kat & David will be teaching "Adding Sparkles to your Blues Night Sky" (Level 1 & 2) this Wednesday (7/8) at The Swing Space:!

This class is inspired by Jen DeLuca's recent workshop at Carolina Dance Club. We'll be expanding on some concepts that Jen introduced in ways that we expect to be beneficial to Newcomer/Novice dancers (and even Intermediates that need to shake off a little rust).

If you attended Jen's 3rd workshop last week, we want to invite you to join us on Wednesday for more knowledge & training on how and when to implement the movement that Jen introduced.

DJ CALIBRATION REPORT

Back in February, we hosted a dance where the dancers were encouraged to give feedback on the sort of music they liked and wanted to hear for WCS dancing. We promised we'd publish the results after Intensive #11. Here they are!

TEMPO - The median favored tempo was 93bpm. 80% of all feedback on preferred tempos ranged 90-100bpm.

MUSIC by Genre -
2% Country
9% Soul and R&B
15% Funk
17% Blues
18% Classic WCS*
18% Pop
22% Urban

* "Classic WCS" = WCS standards usually played at WCS events.

The social dance at Intensive #11 reflected this data and was built around reflecting all of these tastes in proportion. David releases his set lists the day after a social. You can find the Intensive #11 list here:

Got through our pre-reg paperwork today and went to send out emails to the Intensive 11 pre-reg folk, only to discover there's some issue with out mail server. If we can't get the ItMtD email straightened out tomorrow, we'll send out from our personal emails.
