Springtime on the farm is a season full of quiet transformation, especially in our Christmas tree fields.
After months of winter dormancy, our trees begin to come back to life as warmer temperatures and longer days signal the start of a new growing season. One of the first signs of this change is the swelling and opening of buds along each branch. These small buds may seem simple, but they hold the growth that will shape each tree in the year ahead.
As these buds break open, new shoots begin to emerge. This fresh growth is soft, vibrant, and full of energy. It stretches upward and outward, adding height and fullness while beginning to define the natural structure of the tree. This stage is one of the most important in determining how dense and balanced each tree will become.
Throughout this time, our focus is on monitoring and guiding healthy growth. We walk the fields regularly, paying close attention to how each tree is developing. By shaping strong leaders and maintaining balanced branching, the work done during spring helps each tree grow full, healthy, and well-formed.
Below the surface, the roots are just as active. They begin to expand and take in nutrients from the soil, supporting the rapid growth happening above ground. Healthy roots are essential to producing strong, resilient trees that can thrive through every season.
As spring progresses, this new growth begins to firm up, transitioning into sturdy branches that will carry needles and ornaments in the future. Each step in this process plays a role in creating the full, natural look that defines a real Christmas tree.
This is where it all begins - steady growth, careful attention, and the natural rhythm that shapes each tree over time.
Thank you for being part of our journey and for supporting what we grow.
