Here is some good knowledge for all bowlers….
Pro Tip Friday: Keeping your hand consistent with Rosin, Pure Slide, or Hand Conditioner
Different powdered materials are designed for different types of hands – whether they are clammy or dry and whether you need more grip or to have a faster release. Like tape - this is just another option that people can use to keep their hand consistent from shot to shot.
What are the different options and how should you choose?
🎳 Rosin absorbs moisture and can add grip. If you have clammy hands, Rosin can be very helpful and there are two different kinds:
1) Puff balls are for your whole hand
2) The little bags of rosin are for your thumb or fingers
🎳 Hand Conditioner absorbs moisture but does not add grip.
🎳 Pure slide is for people who want to have a faster release and dryer hands. It is like baby powder and can help if you have a tight thumbhole or difficulty clearing the thumb consistently.
PLEASE NOTE: Pure slide or baby powder is NOT approved or allowed for bowling shoes. It’s designed for your hand only. It can leave a residue on the approach and cause other people to get hurt.
Which do you like best and why? As always, speak to your pro shop operator or coach about these different options and whether they will help your game.
