Seeking studio mate for fully equipped ceramics studio beginning September

I am seeing 1 or maybe 2 people to share a large (approx 700sq ft) ceramics studio space and equipment on the first floor of the Ant Farm Co-op Art Studio Building in Boylan Heights. Antfarm was started in 1993 by a group of NC State design school students who secured and renovated a 1925 warehouse in Raleigh’s historic Boylan Heights neighborhood. Today Antfarm is home to a diverse group of artists working in a variety of media. Over 40 artists and craftspeople have occupied Antfarm’s individual studios over the years.

The right studio mate will be: vaccinated, LGBTQ+ friendly, able to attend co-op meetings every few months, willing to pitch in with AntFarm chores like taking out the trash, etc.

This is a list of what will be available to you in our shared space:

-2 heavy duty Shimpo wheels and 1 Creative Industries pottery wheel
-2 wall extruders
-Slab roller
-Pug mill
-Electric kilns
- ~800+ pounds of high fire clay that needs to be reconstituted
-Every hand tool you could imagine
-Raku firing equipment
-Access to an off site gas kiln
-Huge library of books on techniques and glazing
-Enough dry materials to make buckets and buckets of glaze
-24 hour key access
-Automatic entry into the Boylan Heights Art Walk
-Free parking
-Good people

Litmus Gallery & Studios bids everyone “Au Revoir” with one last exhibit of the art of our talented resident artists as we sadly close our gallery and studios at the end of July, 2021. 😢 Our “AU REVOIR” exhibit will open with a reception from 6-9 pm on First Friday, June 4 and will close on June 26. We wish to express a special ‘thank you’ to the many gifted artists who have shared their wonderful art with us by participating in our exhibits over the years, and an enthusiastic thanks to the many art lovers who have attended our exhibits. We hope many of you will be able to drop by for our opening reception so we can personally say goodbye, and maybe reminisce with us about previous good times spent at our gallery.
