Pharaoh X “The more you know, the farther life lets you go.”

🏴 PAN-AFRICAN 🏴

My name is Darrius, also known as Pharaoh Montu Ka X, i was born in the vibrant month of August 1989. My life’s journey has been a tapestry woven with threads of history, spirituality, and a deep commitment to my community. As a writer and an African American revolutionary, my mission is to inspire and empower, drawing from the rich legacy of our ancestors and the teachings of Ma’at. My roots trac

e back to Richmond County, NC, where my passion for writing and storytelling ignited in the early '90s. Growing up in a landscape marked by racial and social challenges, I found solace and strength in words. This early passion evolved into a profound commitment to community building and empowerment through my platform, Legends of Melanin. As a former Black Panther, I embraced the spirit of activism, engaging in community education, youth mentoring, and leading community service events. I’ve counseled African Americans, providing direction and support to elevate themselves and break free from mental or physical bounds. I’ve organized community cleanups and events, and I’ve dedicated myself to tutoring in Black and African American culture and society, helping others navigate and overcome racial oppression. My journey has also led me into the world of independent research, where I delve into the depths of African history and spirituality. Honoring my ancestors and guided by the principles of Ma’at, I seek to connect our past with our present, forging a path toward a brighter future for the African diaspora. Through my writings, events, and community engagements, I aim to create a space where African Americans can unite, learn, and thrive. My vision is to build a dynamic and enlightened community, a beacon of empowerment and unity for generations to come.

Honestly, it fascinates me how certain groups are allowed to forget history
while others are forced to survive inside of it.
Some inherit privilege, others inherit memory.
And society pretends the two are equal.

I’ve come to believe that trauma doesn’t just shape individuals — it shapes cultures.
It shapes how we love, how we fight, how we raise children, how we trust or don’t trust each other.
If we don’t address cultural trauma, we just keep inheriting emotional debt.

When I look at our culture today, I see a generation shaped more by reaction than reflection.
We respond to everything, but understand almost nothing.
In my opinion, the greatest revolution might be learning how to think again — not just feel.

One thing I’ve learned studying history:
Oppression evolves.
It never disappears — it just changes its clothing.
From chains to laws, from propaganda to algorithms.
The struggle is the same; the disguise is updated.

In our society, most are indoctrinated through government schools into a collectivist mentality designed to limit the individuated mind. At www.freetothrive.com we celebrate those who break from the herd and follow their own path.
