Darrius L. Shaw My name is Darrius, also known as Pharaoh Montu Ka X, i was born in the vibrant month of August 1989.

My life’s journey has been a tapestry woven with threads of history, spirituality, and a deep commitment to my community. As a writer and an African American revolutionary, my mission is to inspire and empower, drawing from the rich legacy of our ancestors and the teachings of Ma’at. My roots trace back to Richmond County, NC, where my passion for writing and storytelling ignited in the early '90s. Growing up in a landscape marked by racial and social challenges, I found solace and strength in words. This early passion evolved into a profound commitment to community building and empowerment through my platform, Legends of Melanin. As a former Black Panther, I embraced the spirit of activism, engaging in community education, youth mentoring, and leading community service events. I’ve counseled African Americans, providing direction and support to elevate themselves and break free from mental or physical bounds. I’ve organized community cleanups and events, and I’ve dedicated myself to tutoring in Black and African American culture and society, helping others navigate and overcome racial oppression. My journey has also led me into the world of independent research, where I delve into the depths of African history and spirituality. Honoring my ancestors and guided by the principles of Ma’at, I seek to connect our past with our present, forging a path toward a brighter future for the African diaspora. Through my writings, events, and community engagements, I aim to create a space where African Americans can unite, learn, and thrive. My vision is to build a dynamic and enlightened community, a beacon of empowerment and unity for generations to come.

Main Character: D’Montu

Born: 45th Bloom of the Buried Years
Clan: Solaris
Age in Volume 1: 16 Blooms
Story: SUNEN: Children of the Sun – Volume 1: The Emerging

D’Montu was born in a world beneath the world.

He has never known the open sky. Never felt true wind. Never stood beneath the sun his people still whisper about in broken stories. Raised among stone halls, old roots, fading memories, and the quiet fears of the elders, Montu grows up carrying questions no one around him seems ready to answer.

There is something in him that does not rest. Something quiet, buried, and ancient. He feels the weight of stories he was too young to inherit, and the pull of truths hidden behind every warning, every silence, every shadowed glance from the elders. Montu does not yet understand what calls to him, but he knows the darkness around him is not empty.

Montu is curious, stubborn, protective, and restless. He feels too much, questions too deeply, and refuses to accept silence when the truth is buried all around him.

In The SUNEN Saga, his journey begins in darkness.

But some children are not meant to stay buried.

Quote:
“Born beneath shadow. Called by light.”
