Papaya Wave

As a lifelong motorsports fan, when McLaren F1 won the 2025 World Drivers' Championship and Constructors' Championship, I painted this of driver Lando Norris' winning car as a gift for McLaren CEO Zak Brown. Originally intending to mail the painting to him, instead I had the privilege of presenting it to him in person. The painting now hangs in Mr. Brown's office.

Summer afternoon

I spent my high-school years growing up on Isle of Palms, SC. I surfed and spent my free time in the ocean. I would just drift in the water when the waves were too small to ride, watching the waves break. I loved the beach and now try to capture the beauty of it.

A walk to the beach

Found this photo of the setting sun over the Pamlico Sound from a long-ago trip to Cape Hatteras Seashore. I loved the colors in the sky and the glow of the setting sun on the boardwalk. Acrylic on Canvas 24x18.

The Pathfinder

I started painting at the conclusion of a 15-year-long addiction to alcohol. Rehab didn't work, but painting did. My first painting was a small 11x14 acrylic on canvas. It was my first and last time intoxicated. Two and a half years later, I'm still sober and now use oils and other mediums. I say I paint out of pleasure, but the truth is it's saved my life. It continues to be my escape; the noticeable difference is I awake in the morning to see an easel full of life, and not a bottle empty of hope.
The Pathfinder is oil on canvas, 24x36x1.5. It, along with most of my art, depicts a black figure. He is blindfolded but not in the dark. A symbolic BIC lighter serves as a light. He walks through the clouds with confidence, for he knows that the path will eventually be revealed.
