The kind of love that inspires poetry…
Bria and Brian didn’t rush through their I do’s. They savored every moment. They honored each other. They thanked God for bringing them together. They celebrated their family. Brian even performed a song he wrote for her as part of his vows.
Finishing a painting is like that. I don’t want to rush it. I had just under four hours to paint at this wedding, but the details afterward take just as long. I’ve noticed that during the last hour of finishing a painting, half the time I find myself just staring at it. Sitting with it. Imagining how to paint the Tennessee mountains in the background in a way that feels surreal and not forced. How to paint her dress like a pool, overflowing into the rest of the world.
Those final details are crucial, because they create the difference between “Oh, that’s a cute painting of you two!” and stopping speechless because you can feel their devotion in your gut.
