Long time not posting. Always busy, but wanted to share casual process photos.
-Shoes were once premier hiking shoes, then yard work, now studio foot wear.
-Mugs lined up...boy have I made may fair share..
-More Mugs
-Loading the kiln
-1000 lbs of clay will keep me out of trouble for awhile?
-End of day, 3 orb vases.

Brand new Skutt Kiln. Jan. 2, 2020. !!!

My old 25 yr. old electric kiln; a hand me down from Bluseed Studio founder Carol Vossler. I rebuilt, rewired for 10 years. The company is out of business and parts are not longer available.
Ordered new, Sept 17th, Delivered from Oregon Dec. 17th, (in the snow on a lift back truck) customized and ready to go.

Personally I like a kiln sitter. It relies on a physical specifically designed "cone" to melt to shut the kiln off, as opposed to the more popular computer controlled firing which relies on a thermocouple (high temp thermometer) to digitally measure the temperature and shut the kiln off.
Call me old fashioned, I'm fine with that.😎 Raring to go in 2020.
