Today is a reminder of what happened to so many across the states and canada and may we never forget. Residential schools had a motto of "kill the indian,save the man" and the schools were mirrored after military training schools. Thousands of unmarked Graves still remain as so many tribes are trying to reclaim through DNA their lost. I always wondered why none of my great aunties/uncles or my gram went to residential school until my cousin informed me that my little gram made them run and hide whenever social services showed up. Her smart thinking most likely saved them from being taken especially after my great grandfather passed. 🧡🧡🧡
