We had a great time last night with our First Friday shenanigans! Amanda made great polka dot pumpkins inspired by artist Yayoi Kusama and Dan did some crackle pumpkins. Thank you to all that attended!

All of these pumpkins will be available at our upcoming shows: Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, The Morton Arboretum, and even maybe some here Hot Shop Glass

Excited for First Friday demonstrations tomorrow night! Dan will be creating crackle pumpkins- literally dunking hot glass in cool water- it makes for a great demo! Amanda takes inspiration from recently departed artist Yayoi Kusama and polka dots her pumpkins, turning 2000+ degree molten glass into cool art right before your eyes. Demos 4-8pm. Free fun for the whole family!

We had a great time on First Friday with creative artists that contributed their artwork to our Kid's Draw It & We Make It Event on August 7th. Thanks to the families and spectators that came out to make it special!

Whatcha doing Friday? It's First Friday and do we have some fun planned - it's the Kids Draw It & We Make It Event! We've had kids submit drawings over the last few months and our artists have choosen the work they are going to create in glass! Every hour a new artist will step up, using the kids drawing for inspiration & 2000º molten glass as the material! Thank you Ruby, Millie, Lincoln, Gio & Ezzie for your fabulous ideas! Artist Jeremy Hansen is on at 4pm making a snail & snake combo, Amanda Paffrath is up at 5pm with a sunflower vase, John VanKoningsveld creates his version of a glass chocolate covered donut at 6pm and Daniel Sviland shows how he 'rolls up' a flat fused glass panel into a 3 dimensional vase at 7pm with the sun ray and wave design. Don't miss this incredible night of demonstrations!
