Tonight is the first concert of the new edition of Children's Choir of teh Internet. The choir will be singing Soda Pop from KPop Demon Hunters and I Feel Alive from A Minecraft Movie at Jack Young Middle School in Baraboo. The show is open to the public and is part of The Al Behrman Elementary Vocal Talent Blast. The concert starts at 6:30 PM. Choir members should arrive at 5:30 PM and solo acts at 4:30. All of the students will be performing with the band Above the Fold which includes Shawndell Marks on Keyboard, Greg Lang on Bass, Paul Westphal on Drums and Jeremy Peters on Guitar. There is no admission fee.

Children's Choir of teh Internet has moved to Montello Wisconsin for the 2021-22 School year. They just had their big spring concert with Jeremy Peters, our longtime guitarist and director Jack Senzig. The choirs performed several new works and some other very special repertoire. Here's the first one we are sharing. It is a cover by a sixth grader of Cloud Cult's new song "One Way Out of a Hole.

Hi All! The kids are busy making a video to honor the lifetime work of Racine educator Mike Frontier. We are going to share the video of us singing YouTuber Loralee's song "Lovely" at the school board meeting along with testimonials from many who have known Dr. frontier over the years.

Meanwhile, Gifford students have made a new friend. Reggae Artist Papa Michigan has shared his music and his understanding of the creative process with our students. The kids made derivative works of his Jamaica Dance video. He made this video for the kids:

Hello everyone and welcome the year of virtual learning! Children's Choir of teh Internet is going online so that all RUSD children in grades 2-5 have a chance to participate. We are creating a new ensemble called RUSD Virtual Children's Choir. It will be sponsored through RUSD Extended Learning. We are on for Nov. 9 2020!

Come join Children’s Choir of teh Internet’s new RUSD Virtual Children’s Choir.

100% online. This means we will rehearse through Google Meet synchronously (at the same time) and record our performances asynchronously (at separate times). Students will record themselves singing while listening to music through their headphones. The director will assemble the recordings into the final performance videos.

We start on November 9. Practices are on Mondays or Tuesdays and every other Thursday from 3-5 PM. If we return to in-person school the time will change but we will stay virtual for the 2020-21 school year.
The choir is part of extended learning. If your child is interested shoot me back an email and I will send you more info as it becomes available. Any RUSD student in grades 2-5 can sign up, but I expect this will be mostly Gifford kids.

I learned something in pursuing getting the kids invited to a professional esports event. They don't sing the national anthem at esports events.The reason may well be that the military (Department of Defence) actually pays the NFL for performances of the national anthem and other patriotic displays. They don't do that for esports. Maybe I can change somebody's mind and invite us anyway. LOL

We have a short concert tomorrow evening at Gifford Auditorium 6 PM. Each choir is singing 2 songs and then will lead caroling. The whole show will be over in about 35 minutes, no entry fee.

Last Friday the kdis sang the Super Mario Star Spangled Banner at 2 Park vs Horlick varsity basketball games!

Catch Children's Choir of teh Internet on Dec 2 at 6 PM at the Depot Bar and Restaurant on hwy G in Caledonia. The Holiday train will be stopping at 8 PM. Come early, parking will be difficult. The kids will be leading carols on the North side of the main building.
