"Dancing in the Spotlight" is a beginner-level class series brings you all the fun of dancing on a Broadway stage without the all the pressure to be perfect! Not only will you have the opportunity to learn technical dance terms, prominent features of various styles, and the major differences between studio dancing and dancing in musical theater, but you also will get to have fun and enjoy it along the way! Get to know our instructors!

Meet Trinity Schnelle! Trinity Schnelle is an upcoming junior at QHS. She has had a passion for dance ever since she first stepped into a studio when she was 3 years old. She currently dances at Heinze Dance Academy taking a range of classes. Trinity has been a member of Heinze dance troupe the past 3 years. She is also an assistant teacher at Heinze. Trinity is heavly involved in the QHS theatre department. That includes one of her favorite moments, being a principal dancer in White Christmas this past year. She has also been involved in showchoir since getting to high school. Trinity is anxious to share her upbeat, joyful, energetic choreography to one of her favorite movie musical numbers!

Trinity will be guest instructing for our "Cinema Sensations" week! If you would like the chance to dance with Trinity, make sure you mark your calendars!

Get to know our instructors!

Meet Mekia Gay! Mekia is a Dance Assistant at The Beat arts Academy with her best friends Maurice Silas and Shawn Jones who is the head Choreographer and founder. She is so proud of the work their students have put in over the years and is honored to see how much they've grown as people and as dancers. When she's not helping at the studio she is usually working her job as a Pastry Chef or on stage at QCT. She was in Chicago the musical with Shawn Jones before going on to be his assistant choreographer for Moana Jr. Mekia has been doing Musical Theater almost all her life and was also co captain of a step team when she was younger. She looks forward to meeting a bunch of new people through this class and hopes that they leave feeling inspired to do theater and dance.

Mekia will be guest instructing for our "Fishnets And Fosse" week! If you would like the chance to dance with Mekia, make sure you mark your calendars!

Get to know our instructors!

Meet Destiny Huffman! Destiny is 18 years old and just graduated from Warsaw High School! She has been dancing for nearly 16 years now, with countless competitions and awards under her belt. Destiny has been teaching at Raeann School of Dance in Keokuk, Iowa for the past 6 years. Her favorite style to teach is Musical Theater, and is thrilled to have the opportunity to really focus on that style in this class series!
