Just a Quick Update on the Project: Tristan is meeting with the county this week to get some answers to questions about rules and procedures. Now that Dame Shirley is resolved, we will be kickstarting the project again! You can help by rounding up your purchases at the Quincy location of Feather River Food Co-op!

Be sure to stop in the Quincy Feather River Co-op store for some of their delicious food and Round Up at the Register! We will be moving forward with the project in earnest this winter!

Our QUINCY store's Round Up recipient for this month is Quincy Outdoor Theater! Plumas Performing Arts is working to construct an outdoor community venue in town. Help make it happen!

Help us save our downtown historic district and our only green space in downtown. Please send emails to your local Board of Supervisors member and the state committee who will be the final deciding factor.

We are deeply disappointed with the decision made by the Plumas County Board of Supervisors today. The decision was to table the Dame Shirley courthouse site recommendation until the state had blueprints in an effort to compromise with the public. As we see it, unless Dame Shirley remains untouched by the State, the public will not be pleased and the theater will not be feasible.

I (Tristan) will not be waiting this situation out and will continue to seek out alternative plots of public owned land so that this project is completed in the near future instead of waiting for another decade. My hope is that a decision one way or another is reached by September 1.

In light of the State Courthouse situation, we are exploring other site options. One potential site we are looking into is at Quincy Jr./Sr. High School in this unused parcel behind the softball field.

Some pros about the site:
-There is a restroom facility
-There is nearby parking
-It has power access
-It is off the roadway to limit traffic noise at performances
-It can be easily utilized by the students and our community
