FELIZ 5 DE MAYO! Reminder! Today is not Mexico’s Independence Day, today we celebrate the battle of Puebla. In 1862, Napoleon III took 6,000 troops into the port of Veracruz, in the hopes of taking over Mexico City. Puebla being along the route, there were 4,000 Mexican soldiers awaiting to stop the French troops. More than 500+ French soldiers were wounded and 100+ killed, whilst Mexico only have 80+ soldiers wounded and 300+ killed. Having the war last from dawn to evening, Mexico became victorious!
In honor of this beautiful victory and state, here is a major throwback to 2011 where BFNJ performs el estado de Puebla!
