Finished poster v1 for our June SOMA event in central Georgia (US). The SOMA design is locked in, but I’m probably going to try a few more directions in terms of artwork for shirts and the musical release.

I’m really digging the growing momentum from the Order as it focuses on these total concept events.

For us, SOMA is almost synonymous with Arete, but framed as an offering and associated with the symbolism of ritual offerings, sacrifices, and libations.

I decided it would be interesting to show some process this time as we develop our total concept moving toward the SOMA event in June and the production of associated music and cultural artifacts.

This has been the original poster/shirt/album cover design that I have had in my head since I started thinking about it.

I wanted to show that these are being created from scratch by hand as original artworks and not just prompted with AI.

I’m really excited about the direction the Order’s next project is taking. A bunch of us in the Order are working on a combined SOMA project that incorporates sound, design, mead-making, and will culminate in our next event.

This is my first draft of the logo that will be incorporated into the t-shirt and poster design for the project. It’s not what I want yet so I will work through a few more iterations bit we’re aiming for a kind of doom rock vibe with this one.

In Solar Idealism, SOMA is not really so much the historical Vedic concept but a broader concept of offering, libations, and distilled excellence. If your gods are the higher versions of yourself, it follows that they would want your best effort as an offering.

We had so much great footage from working out with the First Men at and that I decided to put together a video about why physical activities are such an important component of events for men.

One of the lines that inspired the creation of The Order of Fire
Is the one in which Nietzsche asked, “What kinds of sacred games and festivals should we devise” In the absence of god.

And by that I think he meant the absence of a universal and unifying worldview.

When men join the Order of Fire, Rig Veda is one of the three books we require everyone to read to establish a shared culture. (We only require selected hymns of RV)

Wrapped up a truly solar weekend with the Bvlls. We hiked through the desert in some unseasonably hot weather (100+ F) and spent the day out in the sun as we waited for Golden Hour to perform our 4th annual Fire Ritual, reenacting the myth of the First Men.

Sacred names were given as newer members were initiated, and despite the heat, everyone remained in good spirits and we had a great time and a powerful ritual.

One of our members who met us all for the first time remarked that everyone was easy to talk to and no one was try to puff themselves up or run anyone down or start conflicts.

I said, “Yeah, those guys don’t last long. We’re not about that.”

We turned our news apps off so we didn’t have a bunch of guys going on about politics or the latest programmed outrage.

Our alignment events aim at more timeless truths.

Truly grateful to be surrounded by so many quality men committed to creating something bigger and better and bringing a new solar culture into the world.

They traveled here from all over the country and one even came all the way from Sweden—because the First Men are creators. They don’t wait for something convenient to be delivered to them so they can passively participate and “receive” meaning.
