After every run, find 3 things you did well and 1 thing you want to work on.

It’s easy to walk out of the arena and immediately focus on everything that went wrong. But if the only thing your brain hears is criticism, you’re training yourself to look for failure instead of progress.

Find three positives. Maybe you stayed aggressive. Maybe your timing was better. Maybe your horse handled a tough situation well. Maybe one barrel you’ve been struggling with, came together.

Then choose 𝐎𝐍𝐄 thing to improve. Not ten. Not the entire run. One thing you can take home and work on.

3 wins. 1 adjustment. Then move forward.

Confidence doesn’t come from being perfect. It comes from recognizing your progress while still being willing to improve.

We’ve had no times.
We’ve had broken patterns.
We’ve mucked out barrels hard enough to dent em.
We’ve hit all three barrels in one run.
We’ve had meltdowns at the trailer.
We’ve had highs, and then all time lows.

Truthfully, we’ve had our butts handed to
us more than not..

But you know what we never did? Gave up.
I’ve always known this horse was capable of some cool things, our timeline was just different.

Friendly reminder, not all horses come out of the gate being Billy Badasses, some need time.

Sometimes you search for horses. But there's those times when the horse finds you. Scarlett healing my heart little by little from losing Tess 🩵 This little red cow bred mare is a true gift from God 🫶🏼 & I am so grateful!

Weekend recap 😍

Thankful to have been able to go to Ohio to attend the Sherry Cervi Youth Championships! Had 2 really great runs on Scarlett bringing home some 💰! She worked so good and I jockeyed her really great! We shaved time off all weekend but drug a barrel sunday which cost us but I couldn't even be sad about it because she was moving even faster! For a horse with little legs she held her own with the big horses! It was such a great experience spent with some great people! I couldn't love Scarlett more! She is the best girl and worked so hard! Grateful she is home to rest and is a happy healthy girl!

Long post but I wanted to share! An amazing experience doesn't even really describe this week in Georgia! It started off a little rough with jitters. I mean, this was our 1st time attending a show this large! Today we laid down a beautiful smooth solid run of 16.9 & setting our new PB time! Not making it to the finals tomorrow, but we didn't even come here with that intention 😊 This week for me has been about getting more experience on this stage, learning from every run and making memories with our rodeo family! Including all the horses and dogs!
Scarlett handled everything with ease. From the 12 hour drive to being stalled way more than she is used too - except for hand walking, small doses of turnout and night time riding when it cooled off a little. It has been really hot mixed with humidity and I am sure she would've preferred to just stay in front of her fans instead of chasing cans 🤣 This little red mare of mine is one who makes me work for everything in each run. She is so honest which makes it easy for us to see the mistakes I make and where I need to improve! I am so proud of her & the doors she has opened for me! It was such an honor to be invited & qualify for this national event! She may be little, but she is mighty & fierce. Heading home soon to get back to work and ready for our next round of runs!
