Putney Craft Tour

Putney Craft Tour 47th Annual Putney Craft Tour, visit our studios Fri, Sat, Sun 10a-5p on Thanksgiving weekend 2025

For the three days after Thanksgiving, visit our artisan studios in this craft rich area of southern Vermont to see transformations of paper, clay, glass, fiber and even cheese and hand-crafted wine -- All for purchase right before the holidays. The Putney Craft Tour is the oldest continuous craft tour in the country. What began in 1978 as a meeting around Margot Torrey’s dining room table, led t

he way to a national movement of craft tours starting up in many areas around the United States. Several of our artists, including Ken Pick, Judy Hawkins and Bob Burch have been participating in the tour since its beginning. Forty-three years later, we are happy to be still going strong with some of our original members and generations of artists who have followed them.

Picture a hand-painted scroll that moves through a wooden box while a performer sings, plays music, or tells a story. It’s part folk art, part theater, part magic. ✨
