Sawmill Pottery 2013 winner of Yankee Magazines "Best Pottery Studio in Connecticut" Sawmill Pottery was founded in 2003 by potter Dot Burnworth.

Sawmill Pottery offers a wide variety of classes and workshops for all ages, plus open studio time. A gallery and retail shop in front of the studio features the work of local and regional artists, including Burnworth and many others. Sawmill Pottery also hosts many gallery openings and artist talks throughout the year. In addition to the clay work Sawmill Pottery offers classes on glass fusing and slumping as well as drop in Paint-Your-Own pottery.

Last-minute spots just opened for our age 11+ Summer Pottery Kids Camp!

Starting Monday, don’t miss your chance to join us July 6th–10th (Mon–Fri) from 10am–12pm for a week of clay, creativity, and fun!

Price is $275 which includes a week of hand building techniques, wheel throwing, glazing exploration and decorating their very own pieces to take home✨

This adult class runs Friday evenings from 6:30pm-9:00pm & here, you will learn hand building, wheel throwing, glazing techniques and MORE!

This is an 8 week session that begins THIS Friday May 1st and finishes June 19th

✨$350 includes 8 classes, unlimited use of clay PLUS 16 hours of open studio time. Firing fees NOT included

*please note: there’s is an additional payment of $30 for a tool kit that you can keep forever! These are your basic pottery tools you will need for all projects

Our April Vacation Pottery Camp is the perfect week for young makers ages 8–14! From wheel throwing to hand building to sculpting, kids get to try it ALL - plus learn surface decoration, glazing, and underglaze techniques to bring their creations to life.
