Join the WSU School of Music tonight in Bryan Hall Theatre at 7:30 PM for the first gest artist performance of the semester, Benjamin Coelho, bassoon!

Benjamin Coelho, Professor of Bassoon at the University of Iowa will present a program of works for the bassoon by Schreck, Okechukwu, Dutilleux, and others in collaboration with Dr. Fabio Menchetti and Dr. Jacqueline Wilson.

Tonight in Bryan Hall Theatre, 7:30 PM.

The School of Music kicks off the semester with our first performance featuring Dr. Martin King, horn and Dr. Yoon-Wha Roh, piano.

This recital features, among other works, a brand new work for horn called Sigh of the Horn by Quanzhong Deng. This ambitious work for solo horn draws from a traditional form of narrative singing. Other works include Shining Moment by Michael Kallstrom, the consortium premiere of Encaustic by Alex Tedrow and the standard competition Horn Concerto by Gordon Jacob.

The WSU School of Music is thrilled to announce the fourth season of its summer music series – Fridays at the Clock!

FATC outdoor concerts are located between Bryan Hall and Holland Library; The concerts will take place on Fridays at 6:30pm.

➡Where: At the foot of Bryan Hall Clock (between Bryan Hall and Holland Library) on the lawn. Inclement weather or smoke may move concert indoors.

Congratulations to School of Music alumnus Evan Short (MA in Bassoon, 2024) for winning the Principal Bassoon audition with the Topeka Symphony Orchestra! Evan is a former student of Dr. Jacqueline Wilson.

Congratulations to School of Music student Ellah Sundell who won 2nd prize at the New York Artists International Competition on June 23rd, 2026!

Sundell was invited to perform at Carnegie Weill Recital Hall as an award but did not attend as she was fulfilling internship requirements for her civil engineering major.

Congratulations Ellah!
