The Pulaski YMCA was chartered on April 24, 1947, to help young men grow in spirit, mind and body. In 1975, the YMCA opened its present building on Oakhurst Avenue. It is no longer for just the young as it has m
any older adult programs, not just for men as more than 50% of its members are women, and it is not just for Christians as all faiths are welcome. The YMCA has a proud history of serving the people of Pulaski County in a variety of practical and effective ways. YMCA staff and volunteers never claim to have the wisdom that would provide all the answers, but they do have the courage to attack huge problems that plague our community. The YMCA strives to bring meaningful programs to Pulaski County citizens. The Pulaski YMCA is dedicated to provide safe, constructive and engaging programming for all citizens throughout the Pulaski community. The YMCA provides a variety of programs, from Pre-School and School Age programs, to adult wellness, senior aquatic exercise, Muscular Strength and Range of Movement programs, lap swim, swimming lessons, lifeguard, CPR, and first aid training. Our newest programs include Zumba, Kickboxing, Spin Classes and Yoga. If there is a need for a new program to provide needed services, the YMCA strives to lead or collaborate with other agencies to aid those in need.
