STAAR Theatre at Antoinette Hall Founded in 1999, STAAR Theatre is located in Historic Antoinette Hall Opera House in Pulaski, Tenn. STAAR is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation.

STAAR is nonprofit organization based in Pulaski, Tenn., that has provided theater, music and arts entertainment and education for all ages for more than 20 years. STAAR (Southern Tennessee Area Arts Repertory) is a nonprofit that fosters artists, inspires youth and engages audiences of all ages through quality theatre and educational programming. STAAR's aim is to serve our Pulaski, Giles County,

Tennessee, and surrounding areas in Southern Middle Tennessee and North Alabama through the arts. We encourage growth in music through music appreciation classes, vocal training and instrument knowledge, as well as private and group instruction. We even have our own band! We offer dinner and a show under one roof on many productions. Ballroom/Swing dance lessons, drama, tap and ballet workshops, karaoke nights and more have been added to our growing list of activities. Our goal is to maintain a multi-purpose facility in which these talents can be perfected and exhibited. We are seeking partners who support our heartfelt goals to provide children and adults a safe, fun and educational place to learn and play, while preserving Antoinette Hall, an important piece of history, for Giles County and Tennessee!

STAAR Theatre is now registering students for its 2026 fall performing arts classes. The fall lineup includes classes in Drama, Music, and Dance! Registration is available online at STAARtheatre.org.

Drama classes are funded by a grant from the Tennessee Arts Commission.
We are excited to collaborate with UT Southern and the Children’s Choir.

Step on the STAAR stage this fall with a fun twist on the classic “House on Haunted Hill.” Auditions for ages 16-adult will be held Monday, August 31 and Wednesday, September 2 at 6 PM. Performances will be the weekend before Halloween!

Come to the party…stay if you dare. An eccentric millionaire promises six guests a mysterious prize if they can survive the night at the only truly haunted house in the world. Everyone invited has a few skeletons in their closets though, and screwball scares lurk around every corner. The classic 50s horror movie House on Haunted Hill becomes a campy whodunnit in this stage adaptation. Join us at the House on Haunted Hill – it’ll be a scream.

CONGRATULATIONS PLAYWRIGHTS! Today was an amazing day for these talented writers. Our winners of the 2026 One-Act Play Contest:
“Arabella” by Maia Bowers - Junior Division
“Cold Feet” by Andrea Fine Carey
“Orange Tree” by Bethany Dickens Assaf
“Flautista” by David B. Holton

Eight of the nine finalists traveled to STAAR Theater for this inaugural contest and we are so thrilled they were able to see their stories on stage.

The live stream videos will be available for 30 days, so you have an opportunity to watch! Stay tuned for the announcement of when these winning plays will take the stage.
