Steel City Strings is designed to be a studio where students can successfully develop their musical abilities to a high level through quality individualized instruction, regular at-home practice and parental involvement. The school-year schedule offers private and group instruction, and performance opportunities that help students to develop repertoire, ensemble skills, basic knowledge of music th
eory, and camaraderie with other students. Julie began her violin studies at a very young age, under the instruction of Suzuki method pioneer Kay Collier Slone. Her background is varied, with a love for classical, as well as improvisational styles, and worship music. She is a registered Suzuki Violin instructor, and a graduate of Musicians Institute in Los Angeles California. You can see her playing locally with her husband and percussionist, Aavalajn with their Jazz ensemble, Camarada. Additionally, she performs for weddings, with the Pueblo Symphony, and is a regular part of Agape fellowship's worship team. Violin has been a life-long love - a love she is passionate about passing along to others, through teaching, and performance.
