It's time for the June installation of new art with Pueblo Arts Alliance in Mayor Heather Graham 's office. Come visit to see the new artwork with this month's featured artist, Jimmy Jet Rossi.

The Art and Alchemy of Jimmy Jet Rossi. Here's his artist statement about the installation COLLUVIUM, RUST and ROOTS.

Pueblo-based multimedia artist and alchemist Jimmy Jet Rossi creates captivating artwork using linen, rust, and chemical reactions. Each piece features a unique imprint of rusted metal, copper patina, and sulfate crystals. His work evokes a sense of serenity, mysticism, and surrealistic wonder born from nature, experimentation, and boundless imagination.
Growing up in a bucolic Pennsylvania village, Jimmy spent his childhood collecting rusted "treasures" like railroad spikes, horseshoes, and tractor sprockets. By age ten, he was secretly using his grandfather's
welding torches to turn these finds into sculptures. For over 40 years, those treasures aged beautifully in five-gallon buckets, moving with him until inspiration struck.

Today, Jimmy combines these vintage metals with antique linen tablecloths, cotton sheets, bolts of muslin, and satin curtains. Wrapped with love, a dash of this and a splash of that, (can’t reveal too much), some pieces are buried while others are baked in the sun. Unwrapped, each piece is entirely unique. Their rich tones, depth, and natural saturation come from oxidation, crystal formation, copper conversion, a splash and a dash. Fueled by a heaping helping of creativity and imagination, Jimmy’s work invites viewers to explore the beauty of natural decay reborn.

The Pueblo Arts Alliance serves as the sole authority in selecting artwork for display and curating the exhibit. Selected artwork rotates monthly to ensure a dynamic display with the Mayor’s Office as well as provide continuous opportunities for local artists. Selected artists will receive 70% commission on the sale of their artwork, with the remaining 30% allocated to the Pueblo Arts Alliance for their role in curating and facilitating this display.
