Today we witnessed another miracle.
I was sitting outside on our porch studying the scriptures and reflecting on the many ways the Lord has helped and blessed our family during this past difficult week.
I had just been reading:
“Have miracles ceased? Behold I say unto you, Nay.”
Then I began to smell smoke.
When I looked up and walked to the end of our street, I saw a wildfire burning on the mountain above our community. Flames were visible along the ridge, smoke filled the sky, and homes were being threatened.
We watched responders and aircraft work for hours to bring the fire under control. By tonight, the planes had stopped, the responders had left, and no fire was visible on the mountain.
As I watched it all unfold, another scripture I had studied today felt especially close:
“Be thou humble; and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers.”
Tonight I am deeply grateful—for the people who worked so quickly to protect our community, for prayers offered and answered, and for the quiet reminder that the Lord is aware of us.
Miracles have not ceased.
“And in nothing doth man offend God… save those who confess not his hand in all things.”
