We’re excited to share that “That Better World: The Story Behind Truth & Treason” is now streaming on Angel. This behind-the-scenes documentary takes viewers inside the journey of bringing “Truth & Treason” to life, featuring interviews with key voices connected to the film and its true story, including Karl-Heinz Schnibbe, one of the last surviving witnesses to the resistance movement that inspired the story.

The documentary also includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, unseen scenes from “Truth & Treason,” and reflections from the cast and filmmakers who helped bring Helmuth Hübener’s story of courage, conviction, and standing up for the truth to the screen.

Some stories do not happen quickly.

Kaleidoscope Pictures’ Truth & Treason was more than 20 years in the making, beginning with a filmmaker’s first encounter with the real story of Helmuth Hübener, a 16-year-old who chose conscience over conformity in N**i Germany.

What followed was years of research, development, international production planning, and creative commitment.

The result: a feature film and four-part limited series filmed over 50 days in Lithuania and released theatrically through Angel Studios.

This case study takes a closer look at how Truth & Treason came together, from its documentary origins to its casting, visual style, production logistics, distribution strategy, and audience reception.
