See you all in 6 months!!

With the exception of briefly hopping on here the week of Easter, because it’s my favorite time to share my gospel art, I will be joining with and taking a 6 month social media break from January-July!

This year has been a year of the start of healing for me. Healing from a very rough pregnancy, moving across the country into an unknown and unfamiliar place and of course healing and recovery from having a baby ☺️ but I know im not yet done healing.

As I slowly came back to my business after maternity leave, it was clear things were different. Balancing my business on top of being a mom was already difficult but having to keep up “appearances” and do all the extra side of social media to maintain my business became extremely draining very quickly for me.

And thus, my creative soul became quenched.

Now don’t get me wrong, I created some beautiful and wonderful art in 2023, many of which hang in my home. But to be completely honest, at times I felt like I was just at surface level painting to please anyone other than myself. I want more, from myself and my art.

As a theme for this year, I’ve decided to not place limits on myself and that includes creativity. I want to get creative sewing? Cooking a new complicated meal? Designing a fun new workout routine? Creating a fun activity for my daughter? GO FOR IT, I’ll say in my head. I don’t want to limit my creativity based on my business or what I think people or the algorithm will be most happy with.

And as for painting, hopefully? A fresh start. Something new to come from it.

I’ll share much more when I return and also what this break does for me. Hopefully my creative spark is reignited. I’m really excited to see the windows of opportunity this opens up!
