Today we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our dear brother, uncle, friend and Hive co-founder, Dennis.
Dennis was a gentle giant in every sense of the word — softspoken, deeply kind, and quietly hilarious in a way you could miss if you weren’t really listening. He had the greatest laugh, the kind that made you feel instantly at home. He was also a brilliant creative whose writing and directing brought so many meaningful performances to life. His legacy lives on in the stories he shaped, including Lost Works, which he wrote and directed, and The Fork, which he wrote and co-directed, along with the countless artists he encouraged along the way.
Dennis worked side by side with our family for over 20 years, including helping create Liken the Scriptures, a project that meant so much to him. One of his final wishes was to make Liken more accessible to families everywhere — to let the music and stories continue blessing “the kids of the kids we used to know.”
We are working to honor that wish by building a new website to make Liken the Scriptures available again. If you have experience with web design, digital media organization, or archiving and would like to volunteer your skills, please message us. We would be so grateful for help bringing this vision to life.
We are also planning a memorial concert in Dennis’s honor on March 22 or March 29 (final date coming soon). We would love to gather performers, actors, and friends whose lives were touched by Dennis and Liken. If you would be interested in singing, performing, or participating in any way, please reach out.
Thank you, Dennis, for your gentleness, your humor, your brilliance, and your enormous heart. Your work and your light will live on. 🤍🕊️
