This Friday night, June 12th from 6 - 9pm, we unveil an installation of nine paintings by Julie Smith titled “Homage To The People Of Minneapolis.” Julie Smith’s new flower series, moves between beauty and disruption. Over the past winter, Julie visited Minneapolis three times. This body of work arose in response to the resistance, generosity, and spirit she found there.

Working from her Provincetown studio, Jenny Humphreys begins with imagined worlds that gradually shift through intuitive and unexpected additions. Playful, surreal, and sometimes disorienting elements emerge through the act of painting itself, creating works that resist fixed interpretation. A crocodile eating flowers, a squid nestled on a pink face, a frog gazing on a queens disembodied head- these images feel allegorical and mythical. Jenny is a graduate of Yale and Indiana University and has been living and painting in Provincetown since she arrived in the early 90’s for a residency at The Fine Arts Work Center. Come see more of Jenny’s paintings. We are open Fridays & Saturdays 11 - 9, Sundays & Mondays at 11 - 5. We are always available by appointment.
