smithprovincetownprints white-line woodblock Provincetown prints I was born in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. I am an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.

Kathryn Lee Smith (no relation) was my first teacher at the Provincetown Art Association Museum (PAAM). She learned the technique from her grandmother Ferol Sibley Warthen. Blanche Lazzell taught Warthen. I also studied with Lisa Houck at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design. I completed the Teaching Artist Development Program at PAAM in 2022. I teach workshops in the Lillian Orlowsky and W

illiam Freed Museum School. I am an exhibiting member of the Wellesley Society of Artists. One man shows: 2022 Julie Heller Gallery, Provincetown; 2023 Provincetown Commons; 2024 Wellesley Free Library. Group shows (juried): 2020 50th annual Trail of Tears Art Show, Tahlequah, Oklahoma; 2021 & 2023 PAAM; 2024 ArtWellesley.

There are 12 units at the seven-building complex known as Napiville. Many of them housed longtime employees and friends of Napi Van Dereck and his wife, Helen, until a round of eviction notices went out in 2020, followed by another round of letters in January 2024. I wonder what the situation is like now that both Napi and Helen have passed away and the restaurant closed. Location: 25-27 Bradford St. Photo by Elias Duncan is the inspiration for my print.
