New Urban Arts is opening our doors for Community Open Studio, an all-ages evening of art, community, and a sneak peek into what our students create and experience in our programs. Whether you’re already part of our community or simply curious about what we do, this is your invitation to step inside our studio at 705 Westminster Street, Providence, and discover what makes NUA so great!

The Summer Celebrations Youth Block Party is coming up on July 31st!

21 high school students spent six months planning Summer Celebrations, a free block party. There will be live performances, art, music, dancing, games, and free food. Connect with local organizations tabling at the event and take home a free resource guide featuring 30+ Providence youth programs!

Summer internship programs are in session! This summer, we have 35 students back in our studio participating in Art Inquiry: Rooted Resilience and College Explorations. Art Inquiry students are learning about what it means to build resilience within our communities and within ourselves, while College Explorations students are getting a jump-start on the college application process.

*This year is extra special as 3 out of our 4 instructors are New Urban Arts alumni. We can't wait to see what everyone creates this summer!

Join us on July 31st!

Over the past six months, high school students, mostly from Providence, have been excitedly preparing for a special celebration for young people and our communities. Mark your calendars for July 31, 2026, from 12–6 PM at the Southside Cultural Center (393 Broad Street).

Join us for Summer Celebrations — a fun, free, all-ages block party that is thoughtfully created, organized, and brought to life by youth, for everyone to enjoy.

This event has been created by and for high school students and is welcoming to siblings, families, and neighbors. Anyone who wants to celebrate summer, community, and young people— this event is for you. There will be student performances and art, art vendors, free food, games and prizes, DJs and dancing, karaoke, game lounge, and more!
