Change of plans...and we want YOU to get involved!

Head Trick's production of Mercy Otis Warren's 1776 revolutionary satire "The Blockheads" will not take place in July as originally scheduled. Instead, performances will be September 25-October 4. Same great show, new great run dates!

To audition for "The Blockheads", please send a video of yourself performing a classic or contemporary comedic monologue to [email protected], along with a theatre resume/CV, by 11:59pm on Saturday, May 23. Happy World Theatre Day from Head Trick!

It's a great day not only to celebrate the successful end of our "Love and Truth" season - "Dr. Korczak and the Children," "Design for Living," and "Agnes de Castro" - but also to officially announce our next show to the public! ("Agnes de Castro" attendees already got a sneak peek.)

The 250th anniversary of American independence also marks the 250th anniversary of THE BLOCKHEADS, a 1776 satire on the British Army and its Loyalist supporters by revolutionary American activist playwright Mercy Otis Warren. Warren’s eviscerating mockery of armed government power and those who try to ride its coattails is no less funny – or necessary – today, and Head Trick is proud to make it part of the celebrations.

Coming this summer!

Meet the cast and crew of Agnes de Castro!

Rosa Nguyen (Agnes de Castro) might not be a 14th-century co**se queen who was dug up for her coronation, but she is a (currently living) actor who has been active in Rhode Island theater for the past three years. Previous roles include Christmas Eve (Avenue Q) and Lysette (Bernhardt/Hamlet) at The Players at The Barker Playhouse; Daisy (A Twisted Christmas Carol) and Avis the Aviatrix (Cosmo St. Charles Is Dead) at The Newport Playhouse and Cabaret Restaurant; Denise (Lampedusa), Quincy/Lisa Simpson (Mr. Burns: a Post-Apocalyptic Play), Hermia (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), and Mistress Page (The Merry Wives of Windsor) at The Contemporary Theater Company; Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing) and Aufidius (Coriolanus) with Community College of Rhode Island Players; and Roxy (Poly Play) at the Brown Arts Institute’s Annual Staff Art Exhibition. She rejoins Head Trick Theatre for her second collaboration of the season, after having played First Actor/Officer in Dr. Korczak and the Children. Rosa majored in English at Yale University, and when she is not acting in plays, she is writing them. When Rosa dies, she gives her full consent to be posthumously crowned Queen of Portugal, or to bind her future novel in her own skin and donate it to the Beinecke Library.

Final weekend to see everyone be obsessed with Rosa's character, now through March 22 only!
