A Positive RI is part of this year’s Leadership Rhode Island Leadership in Action project. We are running a social media campaign for 39 days in the August-September 2014 – one day featuring each city or town – organized around highlighting these “bright spots” in Rhode Island. We believe sharing these positive stories will encourage Rhode Island to move out of its own shadow, and when that happens we will all – individuals, students, schools, businesses, and government – truly walk the right path to economic prosperity and a brighter future. Too often we find ourselves focusing and dwelling on the negative. Negative news, negative statistics, and negative perceptions. To counter this, the goal of A Positive RI is to begin to shift Rhode Islanders into seeing what is good about our state: from the people to the quaint towns, urban diversity, gorgeous beaches, and compelling history, just to name a few. To do that, we are reaching out to each of our 39 communities and asking folks to tell us a story, and YOU can help.
