—ONCE again: Sugar Knoll, 20x20”. The video audio is a bit off, lots of wind today, but nice not worrying about gnats or mosquitoes. 🌐

—TODAY’S painting from Stout Canyon, north of the Dixon Studio. Most of the forest was unburned but I found this revealed rock intriguing. I was reminded of the Scottish proverb, “set a stout heart to a steep hill”. 🌐

—GLAZING day for SHADOW & LIGHT, 48x96”. This painting was created from a series of visits to the Grand Canyon, a source of constant inspiration. Moran Point is one of my favorite places on the planet. 2). Animated closeup. 🌐

—TWILIGHT GOLD, 18x18”. The desert often saves its best performance for the final moments of the day. Paintings like this remind me that beauty is often most powerful just before it disappears. 🌐

—GLAZING day for VALLEY LIGHT, 48x96”. I wanted this painting to reflect that brief moment when autumn light floods a mountain valley and everything is charged from within—the rocks, the water, the air itself. 🌐

—MOUNTAIN LIGHT, 48x48”. I’ve always believed the right painting does more than decorate a room. It changes the emotional atmosphere of the space. Light, texture, color, and scale can make an elegant interior feel even more alive. ¶ This piece was inspired by the movement of water through mountain stone and the golden light that turns an ordinary canyon into something luminous. 🌐

—THIS one is almost done. The rock mass on the left needs to be simplified. Some of the highlights need more color vibration and complexity. The distant mountain with the spot of golden aspen in the foothills isn’t quite working so I will have to modify that. But overall working pretty good. MOUNTAIN LIGHT, 48x48”. 🌐
