In light of the recent events in the theater community involving allegations of sexual misconduct, Academy Players of Rhode Island publicly and formally denounces such behavior and will not tolerate it, regardless of the person or company. Going forward, Academy is committed to developing a policy and ethics task force to address any concerns of cast, crew, or staff members. This task force will consist of a cross-section of members to represent all facets of the theater. This task force shall address casts prior to the reheasal process and will inform cast and crew members of the policies put in place and how they will be addressed. Academy Players has a no tolerance policy for any type of inappropriate behavior, and, as such, will not work with any actor or crew member who violates these policies. Please know that we continue to stand with all victims and will continue to work to make our theater a safe place for anyone who enters.
