Founded in 1880 to stimulate the appreciation of art in the community, the Club has long been a place for artists and art patrons to congregate, create, display and circulate works of art. Located along Thomas Street, in the shadow of the First Baptist Church, the Providence Art Club is a picturesque procession of historic houses, home to studios, galleries and the clubhouse. Through its public pr

ograms, its art instruction classes for members and its active exhibition schedule, the Providence Art Club continues a tradition of sponsoring and supporting the visual arts in Providence and throughout Rhode Island.

Love artworks about the outdoors? Visit our Maxwell Mays and Mary Castelnovo Galleries right now to see two exhibitions filled with great landscapes.

Works by Suzanne Dickson Albert, Nancy Driggs, Lindsay Mac, and Cindy Baron take on the topic from different perspectives.

The galleries are open Sunday - Friday from 12-4pm and we’ll host special evening hours June 18 from 4-7pm.

Please join us for an engaging gallery talk this Wednesday, June 3, featuring Kim Barry and Roberta Wexler Ehrlich. These two artists will discuss their current show which features a collection of recent still life work in oil and figurative gouache paintings.

This Thursday is Art After Dark at the Art Club! 🥂

Join us for free, public gallery and bar hours from 3:30-7:00pm. Light refreshments will be served and artists will be on hand to discuss their work.

At 3:30pm, artists Kirsten Sorensen and Anthony Tomaselli will give a talk in Dodge House Gallery about their current show.

The galleries will be open until 7:00pm and all of our current exhibiting artists will be in attendance. Join us and enjoy artful camaraderie after work and to see our current shows before they conclude.

The Art Club will be closed May 23-25 in observance of Memorial Day, but please join us next Thursday, May 28 at 3:30pm for a gallery talk with Kirsten Sorensen and Anthony Tomaselli. Their talk will be followed by Art After Dark extended gallery and bar hours until 7pm. Free and open to the public!
