Chiyo is a first person single player, escape room puzzle game, set against an Edo era Japan horror background and in the same universe of [Malice]

It tells the story of Idate Chiyo, a newly recruited paranormal investigator of the Tokugawa Shogunate’s Magical Arcane Division, tasked with her first assignment to investigate some strange occurrences reported to have originated from an abandoned mansion on the forested interior of the small coastal city of Gōtsu in Shimane Prefecture.

Within the mansion, Chiyo encounters strange and malevolent spirits, devious contraptions and puzzles and a dark family history that will threaten her survival. In order to survive, Chiyo must use her wits and intelligence to navigate a treacherous, deadly mansion that houses a malicious presence.

Hello, we at Eldritch would like to announce the release of the prototype of a game that the team has been working on called "Malice".

It is meant to be a first person, "escape the room" style puzzle game with emphasis on atmosphere and narrative. Game centers on a Edo Era Japanese setting with a twist of the supernatural and uncanny

In their haste to get away, the youths drop the oil lamp. Bursting out of Hana’s home, they are suddenly jolted fully awake in the cold night air by the burst of flames behind them. The boys begin arguing among themselves over whether they should call for help or run in to rescue anyone who might be in the building. They imagine they can still hear chanting intertwined with the crackling of the flames, the splintering of wood. They imagine they can hear screaming.

Suddenly, from the smoke, a figure emerges. The youths blink and recognize the village headman. They ask him if Hana is still within. He brushes them calmly aside. Without looking at them, he says their names, one by one. Then he tells them to go home, that he will handle this. When one of the youths dares speak up in protest, he is sent sprawling, rebuked by a swift, almost nonchalant slap.

“We will not speak of this night again,” the headman says.
