Princeton Playhouse Princeton’s Playhouse Ensembles center music theater rep w/ interdisciplinary collab/performance 🎶🎭

The Princeton Playhouse Choir is housed jointly with the Lewis Center’s Programs in Theater and Music Theater and the Music Department, focusing on repertoire beginning in a broad range of theatrical traditions and expanding into a realm of experimental and innovative music-making. The core of the group’s repertoire is music connected to theater and reimagined for creative ensemble configurations

through new arrangements and interdisciplinary collaborations. Playhouse incorporates large and small ensemble singing, a ca****la and accompanied singing, vocal solos, dance, spoken word, new music commissions, and collaborative projects with artists across departments to facilitate a vibrant and inclusive rehearsal environment. The Princeton Playhouse Orchestra is an instrumental chamber ensemble specializing in the performance of new music commissions, music theater repertoire, popular song, and film music.

The Princeton Playhouse Choir came together for its final gathering of the academic year! 🎼

We welcomed our incoming 2026–2027 elected officers, recognized our outgoing officers for their leadership and dedication, and honored our graduating seniors, whose years in Playhouse have so deeply shaped the choir we know today.

We are so grateful for all that this community has given this year! We thank our seniors and graduates, whose lasting impact on Playhouse is immeasurable. Thank you all for a truly magnificent year, and we are so excited for what’s to come!

Last week, the Princeton Playhouse Choir had the distinct honor to co-host (alongside and ) the legendary Sweet Honey in the Rock on the Princeton University campus for a workshop with our departmental choir students and community members before their concert at the McCarter. We exchanged music, sang together, and learned about Sweet Honey’s history, stories, and musical evolution. It was truly a magical day and we are so grateful to have been in their presence and learned from their wisdom and unrivaled creativity! Gratitude to the McCarter Theatre for bringing Sweet Honey in the Rock to Princeton and for an amazing weekend of collaboration and performance!

Last week we had the great fortune to work with special guests and veteran performers Madeline Seidman () and Sola Fadiran (.fadiran) for a musical theater performance workshop. We are feeling inspired by their expertise, pedagogy, and generosity!

We can't wait to put our new skills and methods in action next week for the inaugural "Playhouse New Works Festival" (more on that soon...) Thank you Madeline & Sola!!

As Princeton heads into midterms week, we want to remind you that you are not alone.

In our annual Berlind Concert, Playhouse explored what it means to find unity and companionship as we navigate the struggles of being human. Here are some pictures from our show that radiate a sense of community and showcase who we are as a group. 🎶🧡🎭
