Emotional safety is something you need to strive for in yourself and look for in another person. Specifically, individuals who love themselves and work at becoming whole have reached a point where emotional safety is a natural part of who they are. It’s a two-way street of openness, vulnerability and acceptance reflected in a combination of words, body language and attitudes.

The key to emotional safety is the ability to connect with another through the heart. This connection presupposes that each individual has done some inner work and is able to accept themselves and others without judgment. It is this work that is vital to the individual and totally supports the relationship.

In truth, we can’t be emotionally safe all the time, even with the most loving mate. There will be breakdowns in any relationship. People who love each other may hurt each other unintentionally. As much as we may love someone, we can never anticipate another person’s needs. No one can read your mind, no matter how intimate and loving they are. We need to communicate honestly when someone has hurt us. Then we need to forgive ourselves and another and learn from the experience and move on. Thanks Relationship Matters

A Very Wise Post: When you meet the person God wants you to be with, the devil will throw all types of distractions, temptations, lust, etc to destroy it. The biggest trick when you’re in a relationship is looking for “better”.. Better isn’t always perfect for you. Vulnerability is a dangerous place to be. You’ll go elsewhere to fill a void and end up messing up what first was just a TEMPORARY battle. If you have something good.. Fight for it. Too many people quit so fast because of the arrogance of “OPTIONS”. It’s always gonna be a badder chick, a phatter ass, a bigger freak… maturity teaches u that all that crap doesn’t matter. Hitting a rough patch in a relationship will leave you vulnerable. That’s when you pray and fix it. Don’t find someone to fill a void. Keeping the spark alive, doing NEW things. That’s what keeps relationships going. Stop doing the same ol s**t. Having the same ol s*x.. Etc. A perfect relationship doesn’t exist. You’ll be single for the rest of your life finding “better”. That’s how guys have gotten other chicks pregnant.. Filling voids. Don’t do it. Fix your relationship or end it. A relationship that gets boring is a relationship that is weak to temptation. Y’all saw the movie right? Lol We live in a generation where “replacing” is more respected than commitment. Divorce rates are sky high.. Violence due to infidelity is crazy.. People truly FEAR commitment. And s**t.. I don’t blame them. Investigating a persons past can help but can also ruin a outlook too. Especially if that person has changed since then.
