Primghar Community Playhouse Entertaining audiences since 1980, the Primghar Community Playhouse is a family and community based theater located out of Primghar, Iowa. Thanks!

Thank you for visiting our page! The Primghar Community Playhouse was started in 1981, and has been entertaining local audiences since. We have two scheduled performances per year: the Fall production is the Children's Play, and the Spring production is the Adult Play. Board members for 2025 are as follows:

Reminder for anyone attending the auditions of our children's play on Tuesday, September 1st- the auditions will be taking place at the Christ Community Church.

Who: Kids in 2nd grade - 8th grade welcome

Super excited to spend this afternoon at South O'Brien Elementary School during open house! I always love this time of year. Take a minute to say hi and grab a flyer if your child is interested in finding out more information about our upcoming children' play season.

School will be starting before you know it- and that means... time to start to get your kids excited about our upcoming children's play! We have a fun show picked out! 2 great directors planning our show season. Huge shout out to Betty & Juanita for all of the hard work these 2 ladies will do as returning directors. And of course, we can't forget to mention Nadine from Prettylittlenails who is our play sponsor this year!

So, if you have a child in 2nd grade to 8th grade interested in being involved in the theatre- we will be having tryouts on September 1st and 3rd. New and returning kids are welcome! We will also be looking for high school aged kids who would be interested in working lights and sounds (more information about that later).

‼️Hi everyone. Please make a note that the location for auditions on Tuesday, September 1st has changed to Christ Community Church of Primghar!‼️

For those of you not familiar with the location, it is about a block and a half away. The church is located between the jail and the library.

Our auditions for Thursday the 3rd will still be at the Primghar Community Building.

Thank you to Nadine Meyer of Prettylittlenails in Primghar. She will be sponsoring our upcoming children's production! Nadine and her husband Steven have been involved with the playhouse for several years as board members. Their children Steven Jr. and Sophia have also been involved in many of our plays. It is so great when a family gets involved with our playhouse!

Auditions for our children's play will be on Sept 1st or 3rd at 6:30 pm, you can attend either day. We welcome new and returning cast members 2nd -8th grade.
