Shepherd and all of her assistant teachers are experienced and always approach all students in a prof

essional yet loving and friendly manner. They feel very blessed to be able to share their love and appreciation for dance with their students. To learn more about instructors click on the "Staff" page. students’ performance opportunities include Jenny Wiley Pioneer Festival, the Christmas Holiday favorite, "The Nutcracker" and its Annual Spring Recital which has a different theme each year. Both of Dance Etc's Spring Recital performances and their six performances of "The Nutcracker" are at the Mountain Arts Center in Prestonsburg, a state of the art facility which seats over 1,000 spectators. Elite All-Star Dance Teams. These groups are made up of dancers chosen by invitation out of their weekly dance classes to travel and compete with the award winning teams. The present teams include over 100 dancers from seven counties and over 20 different schools. To learn more about these groups and their accomplishments click on the "Elite" page. And just like that, Dance Etc’s 32nd Recital has wrapped. We are so proud of the performers and all that they put into their routines. Months of preparation, learning, staging, rehearsals, all leading up to those last performances. We have seen so much heart and growth during that time, and we couldn't be prouder.

A huge thank you to all the parents who made this weekend possible. We also want to thank everyone at the Mountain Arts Center for everything you've done. Your staff is always kind, accommodating, and a joy to work with.

Congratulations to Andrea Tackett and Brittany Huff on receiving the 2026 Ally Davis Kindness Award! This special award is given by the Mountain Arts Center in memory of Ally Davis. Each year, two people are selected who show kindness to others, are inclusive to everyone, and demonstrate loving qualities similar to sweet Ally. For the next school year, the MAC will give the winners a $1000 scholarship to go towards their classes at Dance Etc. Congratulations Brittany and Andrea! You both truly deserve this honor.

Last but not least, our beautiful class of 2026. These five young ladies have been such a joy to have at our studio. Some have been with us since they were babies, others joined us later on in their dance journey, but in the end they have all come together to make this amazing group of seniors. We hope that you each take a little piece of DE with you as you start your next adventure. We love you and will always be cheering you on ❤️
