Tyrel Johnson builds stories in three dimensions. Gravity is his only foe. His work is expressed in the octaves of a growing array of materials. Yet, there is a cohesive fingerprint of his soul on each material he manipulates. He intentionally places artistic challenges in front of himself to force evolution and fuel expression. The failures become research. The successes live in the homes and offices of his collectors.

Materials and form become a substrate for a deeper inquiry shaped by an insatiable curiosity for physics, metaphysics, spirituality, philosophy, architecture, design, and the quiet interior lives of himself and others. What previously could not be held is turned into an elegant artwork that converses with its owner. He translates what cannot be put into words, and that is the true value of art; expression and like minded recipients.

Steeped in art since birth in the kettle of a family foundry; he always knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. By adulthood, he had already helped bring many monumental works into existence through the lost wax process. Years in high-end construction followed, where precision, structure, and restraint were forged in mud, snow, wind, and sun. A pivotal sculpture, “Continuance of Action”, is symbolic of those years of wearing a toolbelt.

He leveraged the moments in between daily life and the hours of the night to sharpen the blade. Anatomy. Design. Discipline. Not for display, but for fluency. His guiding principle remains: an artistic mind is only free when the hands are able to create the dreams they are asked to imitate.

Since his debut in 2018, his work has earned multiple Best of Show and People’s Choice awards and has been featured across leading Western and design publications. His sculptures live in collections, homes, and spaces where story and structure are meant to endure.

We are honored to welcome Tyrel Johnson to Coup de Rouge!👏👏

A native Coloradan with a family history deeply rooted in the Southwest as well as an artistic lineage that spans generations, it’s only fitting that Niki found her calling as a jewelry designer.

Working primarily in silver and specializing in silver fabrication she is known for thoughtfully crafted pieces that combine precise ex*****on with artistic expression.

Utilizing the quiet strength of those that came before her she bridges timeless traditional techniques with modern, meaningful designs. Each piece becomes more than just jewelry - it’s a personal talisman, a small piece of art, a connection to tradition and a reminder that beauty made slowly, thoughtfully and uniquely will always feel different when you wear it.

We are honored to welcome Niki Trujillo Niki Trujillo to Coup de Rouge!👏👏

Raised in small-town Burley, Idaho, Kim always loved being creative with fashion and design. The jewelry industry brought her and her husband to Utah. Married in 1999, they have raised their four kids in Provo, Utah, skiing at Sundance and hiking the local mountains. She worked as an interior designer for over 10 years. During that time, she and her family experienced a faith crisis, which caused a secret battle with alcoholism for her. “These mountains healed me and brought the balance and peace back into my life.” Kim has been sober since 09/30/2018.

“The universe was telling me I needed to create—so I switched gears completely and started painting. I created an original medium to accomplish a certain texture and look with my paintings. They are meant to bring the feeling of peace and the calm of the earth into any space, all inspired by the colors and textures of nature.”

With each piece Kim creates, she donates a portion to fighting addiction through recovery and supporting people getting into nature.

We are honored to welcome Kim Ramsey Daw to Coup de Rouge!👏👏

Angela Howe is the artist and fashion designer behind Choke Cherry Creek, a contemporary Indigenous fashion brand that celebrates the beauty, strength, and resilience of her people. An enrolled member of the Apsalooke (Crow) and Pikuni (Blackfeet) Nations of Montana, Angela’s work blends traditional Indigenous artistry with modern design, creating fashion that tells a powerful story of cultural pride and perseverance.

Angela’s Apsalooke name, “küalasaash”, meaning “Persistence, was given to her by her grandmother in recognition of her determination to achieve her educational goals and remain steadfast in her journey toward success. As a member of the Whistling Water Clan and a child of the Big Lodge Clan, Angela’s designs reflect the symbolic meanings of her heritage, incorporating colors, patterns, and floral motifs that have deep cultural significance.

Beyond her work as a fashion designer, Angela is a proud mother, wife, and role model, dedicated to uplifting her community. Her mission with Choke Cherry Creek is to create a space for Indigenous representation in the fashion industry, challenging stereotypes and showcasing the rich, enduring culture of Native peoples. Choke Cherry Creek’s mission is simple yet profound: to inspire the world to see Indigenous peoples as they truly are-beautiful, resilient, and rich in culture-and to remind everyone that these traditions are alive and thriving today.

We are honored to welcome Angela Howe to Coup de Rouge!👏👏

Honored to be invited by Cora Kay Chandler-Black Eagle to the evening events at the Mountain | Plains Regional Native CDFI Coalition Gathering 2026 at the Northern Hotel. It was a night of superb Indigenous food, fashion, art and community, and a chance to spend time with people doing really meaningful work.

Cora Kay Productions has been instrumental in supporting Indigenous creatives and is working with us on CDR this year. We attended alongside Charlene Sleeper of MMIP Billings, connecting with friends, designers, artists, and community leaders throughout the evening.

It felt full-circle seeing the Wolf Bear drumming circle, who were with us on the mountain for our first Coup de Rouge, and being invited into a Round Dance.

A beautiful evening with incredible people, and we’re truly grateful to have been there.
