Got a second hand Ocean Blue PS2 controller. It would show power (analog light illuminated) but would register no input from any buttons. After inspecting the board, wiring and membrane with no issues found, I made an educated guess and replaced the main chip on the board. It was a success and the controller now works as it should.

Been doing some deep cleaning on the console bundle I recently acquired. Here's a 360 slim. For a console that still had the warranty sticker intact, it was rather clean.

The first generation of the PS3 slim (CECH-2001A) was released in September of 2009. This one had a dead PRAM/CMOS battery and the fans were ramping up to full speed while not under load. Decided to open it up and give it a good cleaning and replace the bad battery. Warranty sticker was still intact, so it has never been ooened, and this thing has to be the cleanest PS3 I have ever worked on.

PS2 had a stuttering disc drive and wouldn't read discs. Tore it down, cleaned all the old grease out of the disc drive. Applied new grease, replaced the drive band and cleaned the laser. Decided to go ahead and do a full deep clean. 100% operational again and ready to be enjoyed for years to come.

Full teardown and cleaning. New grease applied to the joystick. It's ready for another 30 years of gaming.

You never know what you will find in these bundles. I was told by the previous owner that these had spent some time entertaining our service men and women. After digging through, I would say it checks out.
