🎨 Arts Education = Stronger Students & Brighter Futures!

October is National Arts & Humanities Month, and we're celebrating the incredible impact the arts have on young minds and on our community!

At the Vernon Filley Art Museum, we believe art education is about so much more than creating something beautiful. It's about encouraging curiosity, building confidence, inspiring creativity, and giving people of all ages opportunities to learn and connect.

And we're proud of what that looks like right here in Pratt! ❤️

✨ Over 8,000 visitors of all ages experience the Filley each year.

🎨 More than 1,300 students and 50 teachers participate in educational tours and outreach, including school groups, homeschool families, 4-H clubs, Scouts, and more!

🖼️ 12 Young Artist of the Month exhibitions celebrate the creativity and accomplishments of our local students each year.

🖌️ 40 docent-led tours, many featuring hands-on art projects, help bring art to life for young learners.

🌻 Summer Art Camp, offered in partnership with the Pratt Recreation Department, gives children even more opportunities to explore their creativity.

And the learning doesn't stop when we grow up! From artist-led workshops and Lunch & Learns to community exhibitions and cultural events, the Filley continues to bring people together through the arts.

The numbers tell a wonderful story, but the real impact is in the faces of the children discovering something new, the pride of a young artist seeing their work displayed, and the connections made when our community comes together to experience art.

We're grateful to the teachers, families, volunteers, artists, and supporters who help make these opportunities possible.

What a wonderful Ladies Night Out at the Filley! 💕

We had such a fun evening and want to share a little love with everyone who helped make it special!

A heartfelt thank you to Janet Rode, who never hesitates to say YES when we ask her to be our featured artist! Janet, we are so grateful for the time and talent you share with us. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed your readings, and you made the evening that much sweeter!

Thank you to Jane Queal for bringing Grandma Jane’s Rag Rugs to the Filley! Her beautiful, colorful creations brought so much warmth and personality to our lobby!

And of course, a HUGE thank you to our wonderful volunteers who always help make these evenings possible!

🍡 Kerry Enick for the delicious cheese, crackers, and candy corn treats!

Join us for Ladies Night Out from 5:30 to 8pm TONIGHT. Jane Queal has a pop up shop, we have Fall specials in the Gift Shop, and Janet Rode will perform a short story reading at 6pm. Join us for a glass of w**e and some cheese along with Janet, Jane, Alice, and Company at THE FILLEY!

🎄 It’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays! Here are a few festive favorites from last year’s Holiday Exhibition. We’d love to have you join us this year please fill out a form or drop by and visit with us at The Filley!

Sign up your group to decorate a tree, wreath, or holiday setting and loan it to the Filley for the exhibition. Entries are due today, October 23!

Set-up days are November 5, 6, and 7. The exhibition will be on view November 10, 2026, through January 2, 2027.
