Oktoberfest ~ Prairie du Chien, WI Oktoberfest is a 4-Day event held in October on St. Feriole Island in Prairie du Chien. Oktoberfest PDC 2022! Feriole Memorial Gardens.

Oktoberfest PDC began in 2009 as an opportunity to provide a family friendly community event in the fall recognizing our German heritage and to raise awareness and monies for St. Key community members agreed that this festival would bring the city and tourists together to show-case the Gardens, our great community, and our hospitality (Ein Prosit!) This year’s Oktoberfest, scheduled for October 12

-15 will offer fun-filled events that are geared for all ages and ability levels and we anticipate between 2000-3000 fest-goers. This will be our 12th year of Oktoberfest and we continue to see the scope and involvement of the community and out of towners increase, and of course, that means more money needed to offer a quality event. The Community has been heavily involved with Oktoberest. This includes assisting us financially or with in-kind donations, volunteers help to help us offset our many facility and entertainment costs. We appreciate their ongoing past support to help make what Oktoberfest is today! With this in mind it is our request that your organization donate $1,000 (Gemutlichkeit-Community Sponsorship) or $100 Activity/Event Sponsor,
which would go to directly to offset the cost of our many events and needs.

Congratulations to our 2026 Oktoberfest Button Design Winner 12 year old Peyton Martins of Monona, Iowa! Peyton received a gift basket and a commemorative plaque. Thank you to all of the whole who submitted designs this year. We had an excellent turnout with many entries from Prairie Catholic School & MFL- Mar-Mac. Over 3000 buttons will be made this year for the Oktoberfest Prairie du Chien. We are announcing the top 10 button design winners. Each of the top 10 will receive a free buffet to Pizza Ranch and an Oktoberfest button.

What a night! This past Thursday, the Crawford County Community Fund gathered to celebrate the incredible people and organizations making a real difference in our community at the 2026 Leadership Awards. The annual PDC Oktoberfest Button design contest is underway!  Contest is Open to youth ages 17 and under.
Contest forms may be found online at our Oktoberfest page, at area schools & several local businesses including Piggly Wiggly, Ace Hardware, Pizza Ranch, City Hall & Hoffman Hall.

The contest is based on the best design that symbolizes our celebration of German heritage. Ideas could include:
* German food
* Clothing
* Drinks
* Music (Polka)
* Family
* Anything else related to the Fall and Oktoberfest!

Drop off or send your submission to Prairie Catholic School or any of the local schools by: May 1, 2026.
(prairie Catholic school Address: 515 N Beaumont Rd, PDC)

The winner will be notified following the design selection & announced on May 20th 2026.

Button Winner will receive a Button Plaque, Grand Prize Gift Basket, a picture in the paper, and multiple web pages.
(We will come to your school and present you with prizes)

Our button winner will join us at the Oktoberfest opening ceremony on Friday night of Oktoberfest at Backwater Bar & Grill where the button winner and Fest Royalty will be introduced.

Last years Button Winner was Ashlin Nolan of Prairie du Chien.
